PROMOX™ An exclusive new hair loss formula compounded by Dr. Klein and only available through HairGrowthMD.com. A recent study has shown Pro-Mox to be 75% more effective than Minoxidil alone for slowing down hair loss. Pro-Mox utilizes FDA approved ingredients in a special combination.

Alopecia Areata: thought to be an autoimmune condition where the body makes antibodies to its own hair (children or adults) Smooth round patches about the size of a coin or larger. In most case, the hair regrows.

Androgenic Alopecia: (see male and female pattern baldness)

Common Baldness: By far, the most frequent cause of hair loss in men. Otherwise known as Androgenic Alopecia Hair is lost in a well-defined pattern, beginning above both temples. Over time, the hairline recedes to form a characteristic "M" shape. Hair also thins at the crown of the head, often progressing to partial or complete baldness.

Dimethyl Isorbide (DMI): In continuing with our tradition of constant innovation and improvement of our anti hair loss products, we are proud to announce a new BREAKTHROUGH Formulation* of our Re-Mox Sprays.** The new formulation contains Dimethyl Isorbide (DMI) as a solvent and penetrant, therefore allowing the Re-Mox sprays to be virtually free of Propylene Glycol. The new Re-Mox formula will not cause scalp irritation or dryness. The DMI increases absorption of all active ingredients through the scalp and into the hair follicle. DMI is a solvent compound that has been extensively researched and has been "Shown to enhance penetration of the active ingredients through the upper level scalp epidermis. It does not however, promote penetration of the ingredients into the bloodstream, therefore DMI produces a much lower incidence of skin irritation." The new formulation with DMI and Tretinoine increases the penetration of the active ingredients making Our Re-Mox Sprays Even more effective than they were before. Therefore, we have been able to successfully reduce the Minoxidil concentration to 3% while maintaining equal or better results than achieved by our 5% Minoxidil Sprays. The new formula with DMI allows a finer, lighter quality cosmetic spray which is totally non-irritating

* Our new formula is available in Our Remox I, III, and IV spray lines
**The Original Re-Mox I, III, and IV will still be available to patients upon request

female pattern baldness: This condition differs from male-pattern baldness. In women, the hair becomes thinner all over the head, and the hairline rarely recedes. Androgenetic alopecia in women rarely leads to total baldness.

Hair Re-growth: The process by which hair is restored. With treatment for common baldness, new hair doesn't grow. Follicles that are still alive can "awaken" and actively generate hair again. In some cases, the results are dramatic. See photos.

Minoxidil: A hair re-growth stimulator. It is unknown how the drug stimulates hair growth, but it has been in use since the 1980s and has proved effective in many cases. Minoxidil 5% is FDA approved for topical treatment of hair loss.

Propecia (Finasteride): works by inhibiting the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT) a hormone that shrinks hair follicles. Finasteride is FDA approved for topical treatment of hair loss. It is NOT approved for women of child bearing age.

Tretinoin (Retin-A): Retin-A has been shown to effect cell proliferation and vascular proliferation. Studies have shown that Retin-A alone may result in good to moderate hair growth. Unlike Minoxidil which effects on the vertex (top) of the scalp, the combination of Tretinoin and Minoxidil may result in better improvement for hair loss.
