Oscar Klein, MD — Founder of HairGrowthMD.com
A Passion for Treating Hair Loss
For Dr. Klein, hair loss is personal. He started to lose his own hair in his 30s. After trying one product after another – with no success – he became frustrated and bewildered. (Sound familiar?) In his opinion, the world's most popular pharmaceuticals simply weren't doing the job.
As a psychiatrist, Dr. Klein understood the devastating effects of hair loss on men and women. Depression and low self esteem are common. Attacking the problem "head-on", Dr. Klein decided to dedicate his medical practice to treating hair loss, thinning hair and various hair disorders. At this point, Dr. Klein began to formulate his own line of customized products that include REMOX™, an exclusive combination of two scientifically proven, FDA approved medications: Minoxidil (the active ingredient of Rogaine) and Tretinoin (or Retin A). His latest product Pro-Mox (for men) is also providing breakthrough results. Both products are far superior to competing topical remedies. Dr. Klein has treated tens of thousands of patients around the world. And he established medical practices in Soho, New York and Pleasant Valley, NY. He personally consults with his patients worldwide.
Dr. Klein's Medical Background
As a young man, Oscar Klein was intrigued by psychiatry, and this interest influenced his studies at Brooklyn College, where he graduated with a degree in psychology followed by a medical degree from Howard University. He spent his medical internship at Long Island Jewish Hospital and continued his residency program at Grasslands Hospital in Valhalla, NY, Roosevelt Hospital and St. Lukes Hospital and Medical Center in Manhattan.
Dr. Klein's leadership began early-on when he formed a much-needed private psychiatric clinic at New Hope Mental Center in the Bronx where he served as Director and supervised a staff of seven physicians and support personnel. A testament to Dr. Klein's vision, the Center treated more than 1,000 clients each month.
For the next ten years, Dr. Klein worked as a consulting psychiatrist in Tel Aviv and New York, broadening his background with experience as an emergency physician at Putnam Community and Vassar Hospitals.
His reputation as a psychiatrist grew and eventually he established his own Psychiatric Family Practice in Highland, New York
After relocating to Florida and evaluating a demand for healthcare, Dr. Klein established the Westbay Medical Center and was the sole primary physician on staff. He developed the clientele and supervised a staff of physicians and assistants. He established a psychiatric practice and is credited for the Center's management of psychopharmacology.
In addition to his passion with treating hair loss, Dr. Klein is an active member of his local community. As president of Klein's Integrative Health, he founded a free monthly community awareness program that provides information/services on holistic modalities such as biofeedback, behavior modification, nutrition, weight management as well as psycho pharmaceuticals and traditional psychology.
Dr. Klein is also a member of Ulster County's Assertive Community Treatment Team that delivers comprehensive, integrated mental health case management services to the Kingston area. Implemented by the New York State Office of Mental Health, ACT teams exist throughout the state to deliver flexible treatment, support and rehabilitation services to mentally ill individuals in the comfort of their own living environment.
